On September 3 at the Museum in Markowa the opening of the temporary exhibition ‘Fight and Suffering. Polish Citizens During World War II’ took place.
On that day, we had the pleasure to host a delegation of the exhibition’s organizer – representatives of the Museum of the World War II in Gdańsk: Director of the Museum Dr. Karol Nawrocki, Head of the Exhibition Department – Bartłomiej Garba and the Press Secretary – Hanna Mik.
As part of the event, a meeting with young people from the Primary School in Markowa took place during the day, and in the evening with invited guests. As part of the event, a curatorial tour was organized, preceded by a short introductory spot to the exhibition – courtesy of Mr. Bartłomiej Garba. The following spoke also: Mr. Waldemar Rataj acting as Director of the Museum of Poles Saving Jews, Dr. Karol Nawrocki Director of the Museum of the Second World War and Mr. Mateusz Werner, Member of the Council of the Museum of Poles Saving Jews.
In connection with the 81st anniversary of World War II’s outbreak, this meeting was an appropriate occasion to commemorate all those who were affected by the terror of that time. The narrative adopted by the creators of the exhibition – presenting the Polish experience of World War II – was an opportunity to explore the subject so important for the history of our country.
The exhibition is available until September 27 this year in the temporary exhibition room at the Museum of Poles Saving Jews.
This exhibition is an international project carried out by the Museum of the Second World War in Gdańsk in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland.
