On March 6, we celebrate the European Day of Remembrance for the Righteous Among the Nations. The holiday established on May 10, 2012 by the European Parliament to honor the memory of people who opposed totalitarian regimes and mass crimes in the 20th and 21st centuries.
On the initiative of the County and Municipal Public Library in Stary Sącz and Jadwiga Postawa – a teacher at Primary School in Stary Sącz, they organized the 1st Starosądecki Memorial Day for the Righteous Among the Nations. The Museum of Poles Saving Jews took patronage over the event, the aim of which is to inaugurate the original educational project “There was a shtetl …”.
