Jan Kubrak (born on Jan. 3, 1911 in Wola Buchowska), son of Michał and Maria nee Janas, lived in Ubieszyn near Sieniawa where he was running a farm. From May 1943 he was a soldier of the Home Army (AK) under the pseudonym of “Tadeusz”. He had made available for the weapons depot for the Tryńcza outpost of the Home Army (AK). He was also hiding Jewish women Fela Schneebaum and her niece Helena Faust. After 1945 he provided shelter to Jan Toth’s “Mewa” troop of the post Home Army. In 1948 he was arrested by officers of the Security Office (UB) and by the judgment of the District Military Court (WSR) in Rzeszów from Dec. 3, 1948 he was sentenced to 12 years in prison.
