The 75th anniversary of the establishment of the Council to Aid Jews “Żegota” will be marked in Markowa with a meeting with Professor Shevah Weiss.
Our guest is an Israeli politician, former member of the Knesset. From 2001 to 2003, he served as the Israeli ambassador in Poland. In 2000 he became the president of the Yad Vashem Council.
Weiss was born in Borysław in a Polish Jewish family. During German occupation of Poland he was rescued by Ukrainians and Poles.
